This prevents carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries and protects the metal strips from corrosion. The main advantage of 316Ti stainless steel is that it can be held at higher temperatures for a longer period without sensitisation (precipitation) occurring.
As a commonly used stainless steel plate product, 316Ti stainless steel plate is manufactured by hot rolled coils, resulting in sheet thicknesses typically over 3mm. Compared to cold rolled stainless steel sheet, these hot rolled plates have a whiter finish.
